Article Marketing is all the rage today.  Many people pass around the same regurgitated advice, but today I thought I would chime in with my own PERSONAL experience in this matter.

• Attract readers to your website
• Help you “pre-sell” your readers
• Helps establish yourself as an authority

Headline

This is the most powerful tool you have with article marketing.  You need to grab your readers attention immediately and make them read your article.  To do this you must have emotionally driven keywords that grab your reader.

Description

Make sure the short description you provide offers a good follow up to your headline.  You don’t want to lose your reader with a boring summary after your headline just got them interested to see what you had to say.

Length

Making your article the proper length is more important that most people think.  First off you need to consider who your target reader is going to be.  If you are submitting the article to an article directory, most likely the person reading it is looking for some quick information and has come across many similar articles.  They tend to skim through articles for highlighted text or to see what each point in the article is about.

To get them to read it you must make it short and sweet so they read it all the way to the end.  If your article is to long, many people will just skip it and choose to keep skimming trough other articles.  Try to keep articles to between 300-500 words.  Anything longer than this will be to much for most readers.

So if your article offers something 0f value that the others don’t, then you make get this reader to come to your site for regular visits.

In order to do that you can’t tell them everything in the article.  The article on your site must have more information about this topic so when they visit, they will find more helpful information.

Submitting to Article Sites

Submit your articles to sites like Ezineartilces.com, articlesbase.com, goarticles.com and articipedia.com

Don’t worry about duplicate content on the net, just do not do it on your own website.

Backlink Anchor Text

This is extremely important for getting good search terms associated with your website.  Most people make the mistake of hyperlinking words like, click here, buy now, etc or using your url as the hyperlink.  You want to create a hyperlink on words that people would use when searching for your website.
