Years ago starting a website used to be the hardest part about starting your own online business.  Now with the creation of software such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal, it has become very easy for anyone who wants their own website to get one.

Many starter SEO packages are inexpensive, starting at $299 and up.  Some companies may charge a setup fee, especially  if you do not sign up for a for at least a 3 month term.  This is because it takes a lot of time to analyze your website, create backlinks, submit your site to directories and and get your links indexed that many results of their work will not be seen for at least 3 months!  If your website sells items from $25 and up you should definitely hire an SEO Company.  If you sell more expensive items say $100 and up, it’s a no brainer!  You would be insane not to hire an SEO Specialist to increase your traffic and sales.  If you paid $500 a month that can easily be recouped in 5 sales.

So how do you find a reputable SEO Company?

This is the tricky part.  Many will tell you they get 1^st page Google rankings, only to find out they get them for a search term (keyword) that you don’t really want or that does not get much traffic.

Others will make promises of getting you 1000 backlinks for $200, but most of these links are created using some type of software and are published and low quality website.

The creation of backlinks to your website needs to look natural and organic so as not to get your site penilized from the search engine God’s.  This means you need a mix of DoFollow and NoFolow backlinks that are created slowly over time, not all in one day.

If you pay for a traffic report from your SEO service, they will analyze your traffic for you and tell you how you are ranking for specific search terms as well as where the traffic is comping from
